Loperamide, sold under the brand name Imodium among others, is a medication used to decrease the frequency of diarrhea(腹瀉).[1] It is often used for this purpose in gastroenteritis(腸胃炎), inflammatory bowel disease(炎症性肠病), and short bowel syndrome. It is not recommended in those with blood in the stool(痢疾). The medication is taken by mouth.[1]
