這個計畫來自2014年8月協會成員參與倫敦的Wikimania年會，遇上了國際醫學條目計畫的主持人（也受到IEG補助的計畫），瑞典的醫學院生CF，他希望能夠邀請台灣的醫學院的學生一起參與國際的維基百科醫學條目品質提昇的計畫，故在一個月的醞釀後，將邀請台灣的醫學研究者（先由北部醫學院學生開始）共同協助此品質提昇計畫。
